Texas, unfortunately.
I booted up my iBook G4 today, and while trying to watch a video, I noticed there was no audio. But when I looked at the menu, there was no volume icon. In addition, when I went into system preferences, the volume appeared to be all the way up, the the checkbox for "mute" was checked, and greyed out. I restarted hoping to solve the problem, but to no avail.

What is going on?

Reset the PMU by holding shift option control on the keyboard, then press the Power button. Wait five seconds, then shut down and restart, then do the next step:

Reset your PRAM. Hold Command Option PR and hit the power button.
