I have a 15" 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac Book with 4 GB of rams. I just updated and right after that there is no sound. when I restart the computer I can hear the start up and before logging in when I use the volume bottons I can hear the sound but right after I log in into my computer there is no sound. I restarted few times and I dont know what else can I do ? any help??

Check your sound settings in system preferences and make sure your internal speakers (or whatever you want to use for your sound output) are set as output device.
After upgrading to 10.6, OS X decided to use my USB head set as the default sound output device.
