Hello

I have the following configuration:

Clients:
15x 27 "iMac with OSX 10.10.2

Server:
iMac 21 "with OSX 10.10.2 + 40 TB RAID (Thunderbolt + Fibre Channel)

Problem:
The clients have mounted several volumes on the server via AFP. File access, read and write everything works smoothly. However, there are problems with Spotlight search. Some clients can search and some are not. Some clients can not search and in the next moment. A rule I have not found. It happens randomly.

Mdutil was my best friend and I then deleted everything and re-created (Server + Client)

Delete and recreate index
sudo rm -Rf /.Spotlight-V100
sudo -i mdutil on I /

Spotlight Stop / Start
sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.metadata.mds.plist
sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.metadata.mds.plist

Delete and re-create
sudo -i mdutil off /
sudo rm -rf /.Spotlight*
sudo -i mdutil on /
sudo -E mdutil /

Unfortunately nothing has it led to an improvement or a success. Apple support told me later with that Apple (Spotlight) does not search on any network volumes. Not even on a OSX server I CAN NOT BELIEVE! and feel almost compelled to dissolve my Apple network and to replace it with Windows.

Does anyone have an idea that can help me to find files again with spotlight on a OSX-AFP-APPLE server network volume ???
