No startup sound on my imac

My start up sound has just stopped today, 13-10-2019 it was working yesterday but no sound when I turn it on now?? anybody else have this problem? I have an imac late 2015 with sierra downloaded on it.

Check the volume level --- has it been turned down or has "Mute" been activated?

If so, raise up the volume to an acceptable level.

Then try rebooting.

Did you install a software update? I can't remember when the boot sound was removed.
