No stereo sound on MBA, normal?

I note this phenomenon on my 2012 13" MBA. The sound from the built-in stereo speakers outputs sound only from the right side of the keyboard and not the left side.

I saw from ifixit there exists left and right speakers modules embedded within the MBA hence should have stereophonic effect when playing back any music material.

Is something wrong with my MBA? Thanks.

If you hit option + speaker, the preference panel will come up and gives you a left - right slider. Move that sucker while playing a sound then you will know whether both speakers are working.

If both speakers work and you still think you are not getting stereo is probly because (1) your media doesn't have enough spatial stereo and/or (2) the Air speakers placement (very close) and size just doesn't provide the separation you require... use externals or headphones.

Is a thin, smallish machine, don't expect sonic miracles.
