I went into the Apple store in Regent Street today and told the genius that my phone was crashing and restarting and the screen was non-responsive and he said it was a hardware fault and they would replace it for me... And then he found out they had no "service" units to swap it with in stock!
Considering they have loads of new phones I found that strange! He also told me I could only have the same colour as I have now and couldn't swap!
He ordered me a replacement but I then called o2 who are going to send me a new phone to swap it with (it will be interesting to see how long that takes though I was told they will have stock this week!).
Personally I am not convinced my issues are hardware related and believe it's down to firmware 2.0 being buggy! But I figured as the genius told me it was faulty I better replace it.
I do find it strange that they don't have any phones available to replace faulty units with in store. He told me they had them but they are all gone now- which is concerning if that many 3G phones are faulty that they run out of replacements in 3 days in their flagship UK store (which is also the biggest Apple store in the world though it doesn't feel very big!).
