I know the new iMac is not yet available for pre-order. However, the Apple online shop shows a price for the standard version. When I go to the education store, the prices for the iMacs remain the same. Is this just some bug, or will there really be no discounts for the new iMac?

This is for the danish store. Maybe it is different in other stores.

I'm seeing a price reduction across the board on my educational discount as well.

What I'm not seeing is a price reduction on my EPP employee discount. Very odd.

In the UK here, Scotland, and I see no discount for the iMac on the Education store logging in from my work. Starting price is £1099, everything else on the store is reduced as normal though.

I need to order two of these as soon as they are available too.

In Sweden students get 10% discount on all Apple computers.

They sent out an e-mail reminder about this right after the presentation was over giving the price points for the various new products and how much it would cost with discount.

I see a student discount when logged onto the apple store through my university network. Have to be on campus to do it though. In England.

Yeah I work at a Uni in Scotland and I am logged in on campus but no discount, maybe down the institutions changing something?

Can't see discounts on the iMac from a german university either.

Other discounts are shown (e.g. macmini)

Maybe they will add the discounts once you can order imacs?

Last night i saw university discounts on iMacs, today there are no discounts, the price is the same.... I'm pretty worry, providin there is or not discount i could buy it or no....
From Spain

I wouldn't worry until it is possible to put it in the cart and pre-order.

It is not comparing like for like - as the other products you can buy today and add to cart.

I would be v surprised if they didn't give educational discounts considering how many unis/schools buy them.

I think we need to wait until it is available. Nothing to worry about, all the other ones are available which have discount.

I need the discount, in spain the iMac appeared with discount but the next day the discount dissapeared.... I hope the discount will come back xD

The basic model would cost me 1200€ aprox... it's a 12% of disscount.

I just called Apple Denmark, and they confirmed there will be discount once it becomes available. I also asked about when it will be released, and she said late November... She had no date, but unfortunately we should not expect it in the coming weeks...

That sucks...
Does it mean the 27'' will be released end of december?

UK discounts now showing

The UK AppleStore for Higher Education is now showing educational discounts on the 2012 iMac. The discount is 12%, the same as the previous iMacs.

Hopefully the BTO and pre-orders might now go live soon?

I think it just depends on the store. The Japanese store has shown the discount from the time the machines were announced.

Educational Pricing

Hi, I am a newbie here in this forum. I have used a lot of iOs devices and would like to switch form Windows to Mac. I would like to ask though, is there any difference (beside the price of course) if ill purchase my mac in a regular price and purchasing it with an educ'l price?

The Mac will be identical. In the UK the HE Macs also come with a three year repair warranty i.e. you effectively get AppleCare for free.

In Italy Edu are 1954€ instead of 2079.
I'd be rather more on how much the 680m is...
200-300€ more?
