Apple had to announce the iPhone well in advance of the actual release date because the FCC had to approve it or whatever, and they didn't want people finding out about it that way. Will the same thing have to be done by the FCC for the 2nd Gen iPhone? That will mean we will know it's coming well in advance. Or will they be able to spring a new version on us without going through the FCC process again?

Some people think that the iphone testing at the FCC will be leaked. Others think it won't. Some think Apple will pre-announce and others think they won't. Regardless, this product has so much interest that if you read this site you'll know about iphone V2 before it is released.
