I have since a couple of days no system notification sounds on my iPhone SE (2nd Gen) with iOS 18.5.

The sound as such (playing music, ringing, phoning with speaker) works fine, but the system notification sounds (“click” for closing the Home Screen, “whoosh” for sending an email, etc.) are missing. The volume slider in Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringer and Alerts is on almost 100%; when testing any sound there it works as it should.

Several restarts, including forced restarts, did not help.

Is there anything I can do to get this fixed?

Thanks for your replies.

The first thing that comes to mind is check the Ring/ Silent switch on the side of the phone.

The second is check to see if you have a Focus mode turned on.

This is almost embarrassing, but the culprit was indeed the Silent switch. This also means that I was nothing but hallucinating about the ringer - which I could not have heard and did not hear (because nobody had called me).

Thank you for pointing this out to me!
