No tags in Safari bookmarks?

No option to tag Safari bookmarks? Seems like a missed opportunity, given the introduction of tags in Finder. I was hoping that Mavericks would introduce them... lack of taggable bookmarks is the main thing preventing me from switching from Firefox back to Safari.

Agreed.

In my opinion, everything should be taggable -- and with the full range of colors available as well. (Not just Apple's standard eight colors: red through gray + white/noncolored.)
