No text Notification

I am not getting text notification at the top banner when have phone open. Notifications shows on for messages. Haven’t had issues until got iPhone X. If restart phone works for a bit the goes back.

I seem to have it too, but I’ve also seen it as an iOS 11 issue.

This sounds like a software issue.
Try a hard reset. The process is a little odd on iPhone X since it doesn't have a home button - tutorial can be found here: https://www.gottabemobile.com/how-to-force-restart-or-hard-reset-iphone-x/

If the hard reset doesn't do the trick, I'd try a restore (clean install) through iTunes. I'm using 11.2.1 on a 5S and have never experienced this issue, so maybe it's a bug unique to the X

I set my X up as new, no restore from iTunes or iCloud. I’ve done a hard reset so we’ll see but I’ve done that in the past too.
