No Thumbnails with WebDAV and/or FTP?

Hi!
I'm trying to set up my OS X 10.8 Server here at home.
Got the WebDAV going but when adding folders with pictures the thumbs don't preview. Googles around and some say that WebDAV don't support that. (Wierd??)
Tried the FTP, but same problem there.

Im using iFiles and iStorage HD to connect from iPad (and iPhone) to the server. When i add my Dropbox account to the apps, picture thumbnails preview within 2 seconds.

Is there anything i forgot to activate on the server perhaps?

Any ideas?
