Has apple just killed thunderbolt?

Even with adapters you still can't get thunderbolt connectivity? Is this trend likely to filter down to other models?

I was very surprised at this. Their entire product line supports TB except their latest offering. Too much compromise on this one. I'll pass.

That is the only thing that bugs me, too.
No ports and especially no magsafe.
That was one of the most important features on all macbooks.
 
By accepting a universally standard connector, they can't support TB by the looks of it, as it's faster than USB-C.

I'd like to see TB become the new standard for devices that can use a port of its size, especially when it can charge a device, and USB-C for ultra portables.
