No url bar on Safari

hi my safari is no longer displaying the url address bar, just favorites. Ive done a search on this issue and the fixes all require either clicking on customize toolbar or preferences. Customize toolbar is greyed out for me and the system preferences window will not pop up despite me clicking on it. Any solve this issue before another way?

Sounds like you are in Full Screen. Go to View, then Exit Full Screen. If that does not work, restart computer.
