The input on my dc in/sound card shorted so I replaced it (myself) and now the sound and USB on the left side of my 15" powerbook don't work. I replaced the dc in card again but still no sound. I have reset the vram and the open something or other to no avail. Any ideas what might be wrong? I was thinking it might be a problem with the cable that connects the dc in/sound board to the logic board? But I don't see why that should have shorted out.

If it helps: Before I changed the soundcard I recharged my battery on another computer and the sound still worked, with the former DC-in/sound board. When I use the volume control on my computer (with no sound, obviously) it seems like its lagging a bit to indicate that its turning the volume up and down.
