No video for airplay or apps, fixed with restart...

so, for the past few months, i noticed a recurring problem where every few days or so, our Apple TV doesn't display any video (audio works fine) when using either airplay or an app built into the AppleTV (e.g., PBS kids).

restarting the appleTV always gets things working again, but it's annoying and i was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or know of any fix or cause of the problem.
