No video when sharing iDVD movie to videocamera

I'm trying to record an archive copy on videotape of an iDVD movie like I've done many times before, but now I'm only getting audio coming through and no video. Weird. Any idea what might be wrong? I can send both audio and video from the camera to the Mac and iDVD, but only audio comes down from iDVD back to the camera.

Could it be a bad firewire cable? Could it be bad on video in one direction, but not the other?
