No voicemail notification

When someone leaves me a voicemail I get no notification , sometimes after about 3 weeks I will see some of the voicemails have been recorded. This is very bad for my business, as I have no way to know that someone has left me a message , unless I continually check/play voicemail. I dont get dings very often either when I get a text, usually I get 1, but if I continue a conversation, I will get no more notifications so I have to keep looking at the phone. Its an iphone 6s plus. Thanks for any help or tips. Yes my sound is on/up. Thanks

I would start with contacting the carrier and make sure your account is provisioned correctly for VVM. Might want to get them to reset it so you can make sure it is right. Even without a ding you should still be getting a red circled number next to your phone icon on your phone to tell you that you have a missed call/message.
