No wallpaper on lock screen (iPhone 4)!

Whatever picture I set the wallpaper to:
I can only get a wallpaper on the home screen, but not on the lock screen: It's just solid black.
I've come from a jailbroken 3.1.3 and did a normal restore from back up when I got the iPhone 4 today....

Restore and just sync. Don't grab it from a backup it's just gonna break crap from your jailbreak.

But then I'll lose all my txt messages, pictures, bookmarks etc!

i realise this is an old thread but it came up when searching this problem for the last hour!! and just found the solution in case anyone else has this, i'm guessing the op had his phone plugged into his mac/pc, the lockscreen appears to default to black when plugged in...unplug an all becomes clear
i have been infuriated by this for the last hour...i feel like an idiot
