is there really no warn sound at low battery under El Capitan running at 2012 Macbook Pro?

or is the system damaged?

I don’t remember hearing a sound since snow leopard to be honest there is usually a pop up at 5% though.
 
On the pre-Retina Macbook there was / is a warn sound.

So no longer on the Retina books?
