Bit surprised this morning when I went to try this and LG's website says Macs aren't supported with their screen sharing feature. Couldn't see anything that would easily achieve this either.

TV is a recent model:

An Apple TV?

Oh yeah, never thought of that. Maybe getting one depending on what happens at the Apple event!

Actually found a way earlier, through Vuze. It shows up on the connected devices section on the LG. You just drag a movie into the 'device' playback' area and it converts it and then it's playable on the LG. :)

I have an old one that I can use, but I found I didn’t really have the need for it so it’s in a drawer somewhere.

You can pickup an older Apple TV (generation 3) for a bit over $30 on eBay. No 4K support, but as I remember it, Air Play works fine with this older model.
