On Settings the Wifi Icon and option are greyed out. it says No Wi-Fi. The router is working fine. The Wifi component in the iPod Touch seems to have failed. Has any-one else had this experience?

If you have to bring it into service, I reccomend calling apple first. I brought my itouch into the apple store, and they said I would have to bring my imac in.

Befor anything, restart the ipod and then restart the rouder. See if it then works.

Agreeed. If the Wi-Fi switch or networks don't show up in settings, there is either a driver problem or a physical defect disrupting communications on the iPod. Definately try a software restore, but if that doesn't work, you will either need to take it into an Apple Store or contact Apple Care (if under warranty) or get a new one.

No Wifi

The IPT is first generation. I have had it 15 months so it is out of warranty. Nothing wrong with the router, as I am using it now. I have come to the same conclusion, software or hardware. It's damned disappointing that these devices don't last more than a year.

Alive again

If it Happens to you: I restored the orginal settings, and restored from my backup, AND WIFI HAS RETURNED. It has also updated to Software Version 2.2.1. So, a software problem.
