If you cant wait for one, just buy that even if you dont intend on using the data. Would be cheaper than using eBay or CL.

I don't know that "no one" is buying the Verizon iPad 2, but instead they're just not targets of resellers, and AT&T iPads will be the ones in the overseas shipments, so they're in shorter supply.

Though I guess it doesn't matter, since the fact is that Verizon iPads are fairly easy to get right now.

What are you talking about? You cant even find verizon ipads. As soon as they're in stores they sell out just the same as all the others.

I think he is saying... instead of paying a premium from CL or EBAY for an iPad, just try and buy the 3G version because the premium would probably cover it. Also, they aren't as popular and you have GPS and always have the ability to activate 3G...

That's weird. I thought I was posting this message on a Verizon 3G Wifi 32GB iPad2? :confused::confused:

I could've had any iPad I wanted and I chose white/Verizon. I don't regret it a single bit.

The reason there are more Verizon iPads is because Apple knows there network can handle it. FTW

Seriously though, Verizon models are just as sold out.

I bought one and happily using it where my 3GS only has edge.

Post of the century! :D

Same here though man. I was streaming Netflix to my Verizon iPad while my iPhone 4 was struggling to open macrumors mobile on AT&T EDGE. Gotta love it.

I've traveled half the country for work and if you think you can get by on AT&T, you're crazy. Keeping a call is one thing. Not being able to communicate with your boss is another. Being stuck in EDGE all the time is unacceptable. It's 2011 by god. By the way, GSM is global, and I know for damn sure a percentage of a percentage of you travel abroad.

I do a lot of traveling, particularly to Indiana and northern Wisconsin (I live around Milwaukee), for work. In both instances, I'm only on Edge with my iPhone. This weekend, I tried my Verizon iPad and I've got coverage in northern Wisconsin! It's like a miracle.

So, I know the speeds may not be as fast as ATT at times, but at least I can use it where I want to!

Is there a benefit to having a GPS without the data service? I may get a verizon model (since it seems to be the only one being restocked), but I have no intention on using the 3G service since my next phone will have tethering. So I at least want to know that the GPS isn't useless for me. :D

GPS works without 3G data. You need an app like NAVIGON though that stores the maps on your iPad.

I think people are willing to sacrifice some signal for faster speeds. That said, I have no issues here in FL.
