Hello, I have a macbook which has had a loud buzzing sound coming from the back for a while. I initially shut down, let it sit fora while, booted back up and it was fine. However for the last couple days it has been getting worse- though after a restart and letting it sit would go away. I downloaded iStat and it says the fans are going around 5000 rpm- even when I do not hear the noise. Considering how much I use the computer restarting is very annoying. It is out of apple care- it is a core duo machine, first rev. I live quite a while from an Apple store, so would rather not take it in. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? And, is there an easy fix or will it most likely need to be serviced.
I might add that cpu A is merely 70°C.
