MP 1,1-5,1 Noisy fans with Catalina

Hi Guys,

I got Catalina installed on a MacPro 3,1 with the help of Dosdude1's patcher. It's working great so far and I also upgraded to a Gigabyte RX580 graphics card.

But what I noticed is that the fans are picking up extremely as soon as the CPUs are getting busy. The temperature is always between 49 to 54 degrees and the fans start with very little lag to the increased activity. Not even talking about heavy load.

Anyone else is experiencing this?

My experience has been the exact opposite. Catalina has been overall smoother and less taxing on the CPUs with a temp drop of 2~3C on average with regular tasks.

I think your SMC is acting up - best to reset it.
