Nokia Lumia 635 is $30 bucks on amazon today

I got all excited, then say GoPhone.... Will this work as a backup, backup phone on a normal ATT SIM?
 
Yes it should, it should also work on Straight Talk, Cricket, Net 10 etc
 
It is an even better deal than the $50 at Walmart. Problem with the phone comes down to the 512 mb of RAM. The 1 gb RAM refreshed model is probably better in the longer run. The browsing crashes and touchscreen freezes is almost everyday with this phone. And WP's biggest issue is the lack of real customization and quality apps. No flash on rear cam with quality of pix as below average and no selfie cam could also be an issue. Good thing the speaker is loud and battery life is excellent. Very good for just a media player which has removable battery and memory slot.
 
$30 for a smartphone.

It is an amazing time of history that we live in folks.

I have this device and it is a great phone. Battery life is outstanding, its very snappy for a budget phone, and it was my experimental WP device for Windows 8.

Highly recommend. Even if just for an emergency backup phone.
 
There is a SanDisk mp3 player that cost more than the Lumia 635, so it was great deal yesterday no matter how barebones the operating system is on it. Might be better deal than the $50 Moto G (2013) and that is a great deal on its own even if it lacks SD slot and removable battery which the 635 has. The Moto G has the better operating system and 1 GB RAM. Not many bad effects of crashing and freezing. But for a media player, 635 is the device and deal for it. Cheaper than many mp3 players and iPod shuffle...
 
The 635 is a GREAT device. I'd recommend anyone who's wanting to try out Windows Phone 8 or Windows 10 to pick one up! Amazing deal!
