Just 2 quick questions.
Can I sign up for an iphone, cancel after a month and pay the etf, then pay for a standard voice only plan from ATT and use that? Would my iphone 3g stay active and update properly?
Also, if I cancel my plan after a month, then restart an ATT plan will I be able to keep my phone no.
Of course the easiest solution would be if ATT would simply let me cancel the 3g portion, (I wouldn't mind paying the ETF). Has anyone ever done anything like this?
I'm in college, and like 90% of the time I am within range of a wi-fi connection so the 3g part really wouldn't be that useful.

I don't know, but I do know that AT&T will nail you with charges somehow...

i think you can have 3g cancelled without canceling your account

First off, you can't "cancel 3G." What you are wanting to cancel is the data plan.

With that understanding, there are threads on here pertaining to that.

Also, if you cancel an AT&T contract you can't sign up with them again for a certain period of time (if I remember correctly).hj

If you cancel your plan, the iPhone will not be activated after the next update, but if you use Pwnage you will be fine.

Yeah, if you cancel your contract you can't sign up with AT&T again for anything at all for 6 months.
