Can anyone recommend a uk seller to buy a replacement battery for :

Macbook 13"
Purchased in 2009.
Processor: Intel Core Duo 2
Macbook 5,1
System Serial: - W8850E4T1AQ

There are lots of webshops selling, but I'm wondering how they will compare with the genuine article. Any recommendations of a good one appreciated.

Of course you can do what you want, but I wouldn't trust or recommend any non-Apple battery, due to the number of problems reported with "knockoff" batteries. Also, there is no assurance that knockoff batteries have the same charging technology that Apple uses, involving the battery, the MagSafe adapter and the Mac's logic board.
The link below should answer most, if not all, of your battery/charging questions. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend you take the time to read it.

I wouldn't touch another knockoff one, I had no end of trouble with a couple (not the cheapest ones either, yet still died entirely within weeks) before going for the genuine article.
