Non-complaint Firewire Question

Alright, I'm ready to order the 2.4GHz MBP.

One question tho. All my firewire stuff connects to 400. I've heard that the same 400 connection can go into the 800 slot? Did I hear totally wrong? Guess i'm just wondering what I need to get my 400 devices into the 800.

There are Adapters or Cables available to make FW800 >> FW400
