Non Contract phones on Launch Day suitable for tourist to take home

Sorry if this question has been asked before and I have read loads but they all seem to have the same arguments about which provider supplies there phones unlocked. I just need a definate answer because if I queue up all night and then walk into a store to find out there is nothing that suits, embarrassed and disappointed just won't cut it. Will there be gsm sim free/non contract phones available on launch day for full price. I'm from Iteland so the stakes are higher. If I buy a T mobile or whatever phone that's supposedly unlocked and isn't when I get home then I'm screwed, I can't just tough it and sign up to a contract to T mobile over here. I appreciate any answers, thanks.
