Apple now seems to be allowing non-developer accounts migrate their MobileMe to iCloud. I have just done mine and its all up and running perfectly on windows pc, iPhone 4 iOS 5 and iPad 2 iOS 5.

How To:

Sign into your MobileMe account at Me.com, the visit MobileMe.com/move and follow then instructions.

Done!

Sweet. Fixing to do mine. I want an icloud email though. Somehow my MobileMe email has got added to a spam list.

I'd also like to dump the super narcissism of me.com (which I don't use for that reason).

Is there an iCloud.com address available to use instead?

Says my account is not eligible yet.

EDIT: Should have read the second post. Which means Apple is not officially letting non-developers migrate, being that you need a developers account to download 10.7.2. This is more like a loophole. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Their is no @icloud.com, so your @me.com email address will stay the same after you migrate.

What all can you back up with icloud? Can you back up apps so that when you do an OTA update you can sync back to the cloud and all of your settings will be correct or do you need to still sync with your mac or PC (via wifi or cable) to accomplish this?

thanks.

says I'm eligible, but not sure if I want to do this or not. voice inside says wait, so I'm going with that one.

Wonder why it's letting some migrate and not others. I'm not a developer and my iCloud is all up and running!

If you are not a developer, but have access to iOS 5 and have registered your account or iPad using it, it will let you migrate. I only requieres an account that has been created or use with an iOS 5 device.

Ahh that explains why it let me.
