I'm using the latest Airport Extreme to extend another latest Airport Extreme via a 2.4GHz link. I think 5GHz can't be used for the extension link given the routers' locations.
I'd like both routers to use non-DFS channels for the 5GHz bands. I chose a non-DFS 5GHz channel on the main router, but don't see any way to do so on the extending router. The extending router automatically chose the same 2.4GHz channel as the main router (I assume the 2.4GHz channels must match for the 2.4GHz extension link to occur). However, the extending router automatically chose a different 5GHz channel (not the one I chose on the main router). I restarted the extending router, and it kept the same channel. Is there a way to control the 5GHz channel on the extending router? Just preventing DFS channels from being used would be good enough.
