Hi:
Background: I created a secondary keychain to hold some of my passwords. This additional keychain has a different password from my login / login keychain. When in the keychain utility, my web passwords saved under the secondary keychain can only be viewed with the secondary keychain password (as expected).
Good so far.
Here's the issue:
If I go to the passwords tab in Safari preferences, I can display passwords (show passwords tick box) attached to my secondary keychain by typing in my LOGIN password only. I don't seem to have to provide Safari with the secondary keychain password to view a password that is stored only in the secondary keychain I created??
Surely I'm missing something here! When I tested this my secondary keychain was locked and I checked to make sure the web password was indeed stored in the secondary keychain only. If this is the way it works, then, why would anyone bother storing passwords in a secondary keychain if they can be displayed in safari without the secondary keychain password?
Any thoughts?
Anyone else confirmed this behaviour in Mavericks?
