Non / MacBook Pro Retina 2012 vs iMac

Hi i have a question im planing to buy either macbook or imac which one is best for an graphic designer and which configuration my budget its not that big, who can help me with some info on this cheers

For graphics design I would definitely be looking at a 27" iMac or custom built PC with 27-30" IPS monitor as your main work computer if your not going to buy an external monitor of equal size to use with the MacBook Pro.

Graphic design isn't too processor intensive, generally speaking. You'd probably be better off with more RAM, and when you can afford it, an SSD. If you can, wait a month and see what the new iMacs bring. There's a high likelihood they'll be refreshed when mountain lion is released.
