After upgrading to Catalina from Mojave the easy way (App Store upgrade) I'm left with two additional folders on my Macintosh HD boot disk:
"Install Mac OS Mojave" (!!!) containing an empty hidden folder ".PKInstallSandboxManager" and
"OS X Base System" containing:
BaseSystem.chunklist ELCapUSBKexts.zip kernel
BaseSystem.dmg Kexts.zip postinst.sh
(both .zip files above are sized 0)
These folders are non-removable (as in: Finder does not allow removing them claiming them necessary for Mac OS to run). While it is fairly easy to remove them by mounting the disk across the network and using Terminal, I really do not want to set up Catalina from scratch if I screw something up. Anyone got same folders on their boot disks? Are they safe to delete?
