I pluged my iPod Shuffle into my PowerBook and nothing happened! the shuffle is blinking an orange light but it never showed up on my desktop and iTunes never noticed it was there. When i plug it into my PC it says you have plugged in a non-responsive drive. What do i do?

Here is Apple's support document on troubleshooting iPod shuffle problems.

Can you see it in Disk Utility on your PowerBook?

Sounds like it might be dead. If you've gone through Apple's troubleshooting steps and still haven't had any luck, that's probably the case. Do you have an Apple Store near you?

I had this same problem with one of my Shuffles a couple months ago, and took it in to them. Five minutes later I was out the door with a brand new one. Are you still under the one-year warranty?

Mine died as well with just under 2 hours of usage. Flashing orange and green lights and wasn't readable by any computer. Apple replaced it for me no questions asked.
