I have a 2012 non-retina MacBook Pro. When logging in after it locks the screen, it will consistently freeze when I attempt to put in my password. Recently it has been freezing and then beeping three time - it's the harsh, PC-speaker like beep you get when there are boot issues, but this is on the password entry screen.
The machine works fine on reboot, until it's locked and asks for a password.
Typically three beeps indicates a RAM issue, but why would it only happen in this specific scenario? And why does it happen so consistently?
