Non-spinning pinwheel after coming back from sleep. (acts like a normal cursor!)

It's very strange. It doesn't happen every time, but I don't know what to do. I tried repairing permissions to no avail. The pinwheel does not spin, but i can still click on things as if it were a regular cursor. It goes away after several minutes. Any ideas?

Specs:

Running 10.5.6

Macbook1,1
Intel Core Duo
2 Ghz
2MB L2 Cache
2GB memory
667mhz Bus speed
