Back again. Two more random but relate questions to go with my previous mac Mini question:

1) Wifey and I are old school, and neither of us is crazy about the Apple keyboard. Now looking at mechanical keyboards to remind us of the old days working in the secretarial pool, not because we are mad gamers obviously. Anyone have either general or specific recommendations? Wifey wants it white color with 10-key. I wouldn't mind it with some colorful LED action but it doesn't have to look like the spaceship in Close Encounters. I don't think that clickity-clack sound is a problem unless it's totally ridiculous noisy.

2) We are keeping our old monitor for now, which has VGA and DVI inputs. Which Mac Mini output to monitor input is best?

Thanks again!

the corsair K70 is pretty good and quiet

use a hdmi to dvi adapter and use a normal hdmi cable to connect them up. that will have better colors and resolution than VGA

Kaida got it again. Corsair K70 is a great mechanical keyboard. I also like the wireless K63 and Anne Pro 2, however they don't have 10-key.

I also agree that DVI > VGA

Personally, I would get an adapter to go from DVI to USB-C. There are a number of posts with people having issues with DVI to HDMI adapters on the new Mini. Actually, there are a number of posts about problems with DVI monitors in general. I have not tried either of these however, I have an old 23" Apple Cinema Display from 2006, but decided it was time to get a new monitor with my new Mini.

I have the keyboard for you -- fits "old school" perfectly:

Looks and sounds like "the old ones", and built like a tank.

"We are keeping our old monitor for now, which has VGA and DVI inputs. Which Mac Mini output to monitor input is best?"

The 2018/20 Mini can be "finicky" with displays, cables, and what type of connection is being used.

I'd suggest trying first:
- USBc (Mac end) to DVI (display end) adapter/cable.

If that gives you trouble, then try:
- HDMI 2.0 (Mac end) to DVI (display end) adapter/cable
