Hey all. I have a MB 13.3", and I just hooked up a 17" non-widescreen monitor to my mac, and it looks horrible. It's all stretched weird, because of it not being widescreen. Is there a hack/mod that will make it either widescreen style, or just not so stretched?

That's the whole problem. It isn't in a widescreen resolution, and OS X looks weird compared to my MacBook. The displays aren't mirrored, they are seperate, with seperate resolutions. My MB is widescreen, the second one isn't.

i don't know if it the mb is any different then my vaio laptop with a widescreen(1280x800) but i hooked it up to non-widescreen 19" lcd and i was able to run it at 1280x1024 with no problems by extending my desktop. which i think the macs do the same. sounds like you are applying the same resolution that's on your mb to your external monitor or your desktop picture is in widescreen trying to display a traditional screen.
