none of my burned CDs work

i've burned around five CDs so far, and itunes will lock up if i try to play them after they are made. and my car doesnt play them.

any ideas?

Have you burned them as audio or MP3 CDs? Have you used iTunes for burning them, if so, which version? Do the burned CDs show up in Finder? Have you finalised the CDs in the application you used to burn them with?
Can you provide more information what steps with what software you have taken?

Have you tried other CD-R media? Btw, what exact Mac do you use to burn the CDs?
