Hi guys,

I'm new to server work so excuse my ignorance. What I'm trying to accomplish seems fairly simple but I'm not sure how to go about it so a bit of guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking to create a private podcast database for my small business where I can store tutorial podcasts and a lesson wiki and give access to users on a fairly limited basis. I would like to have these things accessible via the internet at server.mydomain.com, with login required.

I have Lion Server installed but I'm not sure what my next steps are. Do I need a unique IP for the domain from my host? What do I do with it? if the files are being pushed to my domain, does the server machine actually need to be running 24/7 to have the services accessible, or just when I'm actively adding/changing content?

Again, excuse me if the questions are very basic but any help would be appreciated. :)
