I just moved from ip8plus to ip12pm. The screen is obviously different now. Do these new phone screens have potential issues with screen burn in?

iPhone 8 Plus uses an LCD display. 12 Pro Max has an OLED display. OLED can have burn in issues. I have seen burn in on some Galaxy Note devices. As far as burn in is concerned, my iPhone X(with OLED) after 3 years of usage has no burn in. I keep auto brightness turned on.

Unless the same image is constantly displayed on the screen for days and weeks there’s no chance of burn in. Don’t worry.

Only OLED iPhones I've ever seen with burn-in are store demo units that play the same thing all day every day. In regular usage I've never seen it. Just make sure you have your phone to auto-lock. If you have it set to never lock and leave it plugged in for a few days you could see some ghosting I suppose.
