I made the mistake of not pouncing on a S3 LTE when they were 'available for pickup' last weekend, and now I'm regretting it since I can't find one anywhere.
I live in Chicago, and the Michigan Ave store had them as of Sunday to be picked up, since nada. I had hoped that if they receive another shipment for the weekend and they would fulfill this store since its a high traffic one for Apple. I have a few questions that I'm hoping someone can help me with.
1) What about next Friday when the Nike versions are released? Any chance the stores would have those in stock to be purchased since I didn't preorder one? I don't care if I get a Nike one, just thought that might be an option to get one before the 3-5 weeks on the other LTE's. Is my best bet to try to buy one online and choose 'available for pickup'? Do I need to do that at midnight?
2)I signed up for notifications from istock. However last night they showed one at the Lincoln Park store (after the store had closed), i got online and tried to do the 'available for pickup' purchase and it showed it wasn't. I called this morning when they opened and they didn't have any. istock updated to show its not actually there. How accurate have people found the istock to be? Shouldn't those still show on Apple's website?
3) I could just order one and wait on the shipping. What are the chances the stores in Chicago don't get any before the 3-5 weeks? Is this typical of new apple products? (I've never really tried to get something right when its been released so am in the dark about the inventory issues).
Any suggestions would be great.
