ok, i currently have a mbp with a 150gb hd with 50gb available. it came with final cut and a boat load of other programs on it which was cool, but i'm about to add cs3 when i can decide what hd to get. now i know i need a hd upgrade quick and i want a 7200rpm which will be sweet. the question is this: will a 200gb that i have my eye on be have sufficient open space to run final cut smoothly after installing a few more programs if i use external drives to save everything to? i'm thinking it'll have about 50gb open, but is that enough? let me know, thanks.

As long as you save all your imported video to external drives, you should be fine.
