I finally got my IP yesterday. I bought a few cases in advance so I would have some options to choose from when I finally get the phone. Phone cases are such a hit-or-miss thing. You really never know if you're going to like it or not until you get it out of the package and on your phone.

I was looking for thin, light, simple, clean scratch protection, and something that would protect the camera when laid flat on a surface. I was also looking for a case that left the volume and power buttons completely exposed. I can't stand clicking "through" a case.

Noot® Basics Ultra Slim - Thin, smooth, simple, and only $4.99

ROCK 0.8 MM TPU Case - Seems to be a big favorite around here. Thin, light, clean, and offers camera coverage. Pretty cheap at $8.99

Spigen Aluminum Fit - I thought it would be a good idea to have a more protective case for when I go out and have more potential to drop the phone. Seems like a case that offers *fair* drop protection while still being thin'ish, and has a nice clean design. Fairly priced at $15.22

After trying all three, I would have to say that I really liked the Noot and the Spigen, and I decided to return the ROCK.

The ROCK wasn't a bad case pre-say, but it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. It wasn't as thin as I had anticipated (pretty sure I got the 8mm), the fit wasn't quite as tight as I was hoping for, and the volume buttons were covered (I thought they would be exposed). The packaging was pretty nice, but the item itself just felt a little cheap. Also, I wasn't really a fan of how a clear case looked on the Space Grey phone. I've seen pictures online but had to see it for myself in person. I think it's a case better suited for a white phone.

The Noot: GREAT value at $4.99. It has a "smooth/powdery rubber" type finish to it. It provides adequate grip. Better than holding the phone naked anyways. It is very thin, adds very little bulk, provides a very small lip for "face down" protection and also provides juuuust enough thickness to protect the camera from protruding. My only knock against it is that is picks up finger prints pretty easily. Otherwise it is a great case. I plan on keeping this case for every day use.

The Spigen: Another very nice case. I think it is a touch over priced at $15.22. But I would consider this a "you get what you pay for" type item. Excellent build quality, tight fit, adds good protection without adding much bulk to the case at all. I personally like the aesthetics of the case. Good grip, protection from camera protrusion, lip for "face down" protection, and I would think that the case is sturdy enough to provide at least a little drop protection. My only knock is that is isn't the easiest to remove. It is a relatively stiff case, so it's a bit difficult to twist and pop off. Overall I'm a fan though. I plan on keeping this case, primarily for when I got out drinking and socializing and I'm in situations with greater "drop potential" :).
