I was thinking - Why dont we start a thread about the typical battery time on a MBP doing certain things
2010MBP - 2 month old - Only Safari, and Mail open --> Brightness 50%, Keyboard Backlight Off --> 8-9 hours

There are literally hundreds of battery threads, from people posting their battery health to people asking average time on a charge, to anything you can think of. You can't draw conclusions on "typical battery time" because so many factors affect battery life, including screen brightness, WiFi, bluetooth, apps/widgets/processes running, hardware configuration, battery health, etc.
