Is it normal for Apple Care+ to begin day of order on a product that isn't even shipping yet? Not even in my hand yet, and this says it expires 2 years from purchase date even though the phone isn't to me yet. Sounds like theft of 1 week of coverage in my mind.

IMO it starts once apple activates it with the SN.

whenever I get AppleCare+ I always wait until its in my hands and I buy it in the settings section. that way I take full use of it.

I guess it is a lesson learned. Last time I bought an Apple product was in the early 90's and bought it from a store long before online orders. I didn't even know I could add it on after buying the phone.

yea before you had to go into the store and they inspect it was a real pain in the ass. now your able to do it via the settings app and it gives you 60 days to do it. you can do this for the iPhone, iPad, MacBook, iMac etc...

if your going to sell it next year for the iPhone 14 it pays off to pay monthly rather than the lump sum IMO of course.

also I checked apple.com and it says it there

"AppleCare+ coverage and recurring monthly payments begin when your device ships or is picked up. Your monthly plan automatically renews until cancelled. Cancel at any time by calling 800-APL-CARE (800-275-2273) or as provided in your terms and conditions. Apple Card Monthly Installments customers may only add two years of coverage to their purchase. The cost of your AppleCare+ coverage will be divided across your Apple Card Monthly Installment payments."

Thanks, I just went back and looked and sure enough it says that. You would think when they are launching a new product it would be on release day since they control when we can get it. But I really appreciate the education. As for monthly vs 2 years up front I went with the 2 years because I traditionally only get a new phone every 2 years figured it was the better deal. I got it because again not owning an Apple product in 25 years I have no clue what to expect and figured it would be a good idea.

I am thankful for your education on it here. And I mean that truthfully.
