Whats the normal temperature suppose to be for the CPU? Mine is at 72 Degree's Cel. I tried using smc fan control on my new MBP and set the fan speeds higher and it didnt seem to work so I used fan Control which Worked my Cpu's temp is 72 Degee with fans spinning at 5000 rpm is this normal?

What are you doing on your computer?
Temps will vary widely depending on what you are doing

transferring files via FW 800 from old iMac to new MBP like folders varying in size from 5 gb to like 20 gb. Also how many fans does the 13 inch MBP have?

mine just sitting on the table doing nothing sits around 31C. Fan control is set at 3650RPM. WHen i'm doing stuff like browsing or iTunes or other simple stuff like now, it sits around 41C.

on edit I have the 15" MBP.

After these files finish copying (5 minutes) I will restart it because I remember last time I used fan control it sped my iMacs fan to max and the CPU temps went sky rocketing for no reason to like 80 degrees.

okay restarted MBP removed Fan Control before reboot and used smc fan control now smc fan control is working and macbook is cooling down its at 50 degrees now so should be good

Mine seems to run at around 70 whenever I play videos on youtube, almost every time. It doesnt seem to cool down after I have stopped either. The metal is almost so hot on one side that I would burn my fingers if I left them there too long.

Mine runs at around 55 degrees celcius doing normal tasks like web-browsing, word processing, etc., but shoots up to around 80 when video encoding or playing graphics-intensive games. smcFanControl tells me the default fan speed is around 2000 rpm and goes up to about 4000 rpm when I'm running processor-intensive apps.

After installing and setting up Coolbook Mine idle around 43-45C when surfing the web but when encoding I get around 70C.
