So I have a Macbook Pro 16 M1 and with my old headphones my voice would be heard clear and loud with the input at 50%. Now with my new Logitech headphones 50% is way too low and 100% is just right.

So I'm just wondering, is it normal to have to put the input level to 100%? Tried them on my iPad and by default the input volume sounds fine.

Also, when the input is set to 100%, does that degrade the voice quality at all?

Thanks.

Just depends on the headphones & the location of the mic. I have a mic that "Likes" about 80% input level, and another that's fine at 40%.

There's no inherent quality reduction at higher input volumes; it just depends on the mic & the environmental noise.
